Now, let's talk threads!
I love Silk and Ivory, Planet Earth Silk, and Anchor Wool for non-strandable solid 13 mesh fibers, and Vineyard Silk and Vineyard Merino Wool, Pepper Pot Silk, and Essentials for non-strandable solid 18 mesh fibers. These fibers have full coverage and an impressive selection of colors. I'm a fan of mixing and matching, but if you prefer to use one fiber throughout, all of these options have a lot of colors to choose from.
There are many great sparkly/fuzzy/decorative threads- and I love them all! The majority are through Rainbow Gallery (fuzzy and metallics) and Kreinik (metallics). These fibers are great for adding some oomph to your canvas. A few personal favorites are Silk Lame Braid (SL), Very Velvet (Petite for 18, regular for 13), Fyre Werks (golds in particular), and Wisper/Fuzzy Stuff for furry stitches. Most of these threads are intended to stitch normally, and a few are intended to couch on the top of your canvas (the thicker, more decorative fibers).
If you prefer strandable fibers, some of my favorites are Soie d'Alger, Soie Cristale, and DMC Floche. These are great for decorative stitches where a thin strand or two is needed, or if the color match is exact for your project. Depending on the mesh and the project, you may need multiple strands for full coverage.
